Boat Detailing in Woodstock, Ontario

From Pittock paddlers to Great Lakes cruisers — Woodstock boats get detailed at home, before the trailer ever hits the highway.

Proudly local

Your boat detailing team in Woodstock

Woodstock's own water is Pittock Reservoir, the conservation-area lake on the Thames just north of the city — good for paddlecraft, sailing dinghies, and small fishing boats. The bigger hulls in town live on trailers: Woodstock sits where the 401 meets the 403, so owners here tow south to Lake Erie or northwest to Lake Huron depending on the weekend. Either way, the boat spends most of its life parked at home or in a storage lot, and that is where we come to work on it.

A trailered boat that highways to the lake picks up a specific kind of grime: road film and diesel soot on the hull from the tow, baked-on bugs across the bow, and brake dust freckling the trailer-side surfaces. None of it belongs on gel coat, and all of it comes off with the right compound and a machine polish — followed by a sealant that makes the next tow's film rinse off instead of bonding.

The Woodstock calendar looks like the rest of our inland towns: a full detail in April or May before the first launch, and a protective top-up plus interior clean in the fall before the cover goes on. Storage prep matters here — a boat that goes under its cover clean, dry, waxed, and conditioned comes out in spring needing a wash instead of a restoration, and that difference is real money over a few seasons.

Local conditions

The long tow, and what it costs a finish

Woodstock is the farthest of the inland towns from either lake, which means a Woodstock boat racks up more highway distance per outing than one from anywhere else on this list. An hour and a half each way to Lake Huron, most of it at highway speed, is a meaningful amount of exposure that people rarely count as wear because it does not happen on the water.

At highway speed the leading surfaces of a boat are being sandblasted, gently but continuously. Grit lifted by the tow vehicle hits the bow, the rub rail and the leading edge of the windshield frame, and over several seasons that shows up as a dulled, finely scratched band across exactly those surfaces while the rest of the hull still looks fine. It is a real and specific pattern, and it is why an uncovered tow is more expensive than it looks.

Insects are the other highway problem, and they are worse than they appear. Bug splatter is acidic, it bakes on within the same drive on a hot day, and left on a hull through a week of sun it will etch a permanent mark into gel coat. The window for easy removal is measured in hours, not days, which is the opposite of what most people assume.

Noah and the boys from All Pro Detailing did an amazing job on my boat. Prior to their efforts she was experiencing some heavy oxidation. Their results exceeded my expectation. I would not hesitate to recommend these gentlemen to anyone.

Noah and his guys did a great job. My 2004 Trophy looks like new. Top side was very chalky but not now. Photos don't do justice! Thanks again.

The amazing detail job on our 1993 Rinker boat definitely brought it back to life. The guys were professional, prepared and did a great job cleaning up!

Woodstock FAQs

Boat detailing in Woodstock, answered

Do you detail small boats and fishing boats used on Pittock?+

Yes. Size doesn't matter to us — aluminum fishing boats, sailing dinghies, and runabouts get the same process as a thirty-foot cruiser, scaled to the boat.

What is all the film on my hull after towing to the lake?+

Road grime — diesel soot, bug remains, and brake dust picked up on the 401. It bonds to gel coat if it sits. We remove it with the right compound and polish, then seal the hull so the next tow rinses off.

Should I detail before or after the boat goes into winter storage?+

Before. Going under the cover clean, dry, and waxed — with conditioned vinyl — is the single best thing you can do for how the boat comes out in spring.

Do you charge a travel fee to Woodstock?+

No — Woodstock is part of our regular 401/403 corridor coverage.
